Unopened Fortune Cookie Selling on eBay for over $480 by Scott Campbell

An unopened fortune cookie selling on eBay has bids of over $480.

The listing claims that the seller has just eaten Chinese food but did not wish to read their fortune. It also includes a link to an article about a man who won the lottery after using the numbers suggested by his fortune cookie, in an obvious attempt to up the price.

The obvious reason why any person would pay nearly $500 dollars for a $1 fortune cookie is the fact that this has probably been very well publicised and the person who purchases will get recognition on a large scale. The other is that they are having a laugh and not planning to pay.

All I know is that I am never going to purchase a fortune cookie for $500.

The listing can be viewed at http://tinyurl.com/5egkns.
