After years of absence I attempted to log into my old Yahoo accounts, but the passwords no longer worked. They closed out my 1999 account but allowed me to retrieve a new password for my 2004 account (no Yahoo mail yet). To get a readable captcha required refreshing the page many times. Double opt-in was created for a reason and I can't understand who would be so desperate for subscribers not to require it! Yes, spamZa can be very annoying, but personally I would focus on the people running mailing lists that allow anyone to subscribe anybody else.
